… I put effort into these titles, I swear!
Okay now that we’ve covered the town, house and villagers, here is all the stuff that actually happened in the last X months 😛 (Though it doesn’t include the holidays such as Halloween and New Year’s, which will be in the next post.)
I got to visit Amy’s Citàlune during a beautiful time of year (and day!), along with Jessnook and Kiki.
The. Colours. Were. Gorgeous.
At 6pm while we were hanging out in front of the station, the little soldier popped out of the fairy tale clock.
Inside Estel’s house (which is even more awesome now), I loved the little fall-themed room upstairs with customised furniture.
I also loved every other room, but I didn’t take pictures ._.
She gave me the lovely sailboat model from Explorers’ Day and picnic basket from Labor Day, both of which we don’t get
Belated thanks for having us over and for the gifts, Amy! 😀
Gracie arrived in town for the first time! And 2nd, 3rd and 4th times 😆
And she gave me the hardest theme for the FIRST visit!!
Have a look for yourself; the Modern theme has the absolute shortest list!
Yes I did 😡
Second visit!
I’m sorry. Auf Englisch, bitte?
I ended up switching back to English, not only because the Gracie themes were different (eg. ornate was luxurious in German), but so were all the clothing items in the catalogue x_x I couldn’t keep up with learning multiple names for each item.
Gotta do what you must.
Third time! I was wondering what was cute about a full-body armor. In the end I realised I was still wearing my purple stripe socks.
Aaand of course it’s the easiest theme for the final visit.
Gracie Fashion Checks — Done!
Got me a nice ensemble from a day at the shops. I ended up sticking with the laced up boots for a while.
I tried my hand at turning a game mascot from a series I really like into a dress. I had this concept floating around in my head for a while. It definitely looked strange with the eyes like that though.
I tried for a less literal interpretation and it looked much better ^^
I debated on whether to give it details to make it look more realistic as an item of clothing and tried a few variations, but decided to keep it minimalistic like the original character design.
Anybody know what the heck it is?
I love this – Phineas’s name in French is Helium 😆
The ants have quite a bit more presence in this version’s museum 😮
Another room in my museum. I’ve always wanted to display rainbow rows of items like the gems somewhere, but they never fit in anywhere, so in the end I shoved them in museum ‘storage’ 😛
Can’t have enough rococo wardrobes!
I heard this song once in a Streetpass house that instantly made me stop what I was doing and listen. The voice and melody were both very calming.
After a bit of research, it is from the song Kapp’n sings in the Japanese e+ version when taking you to the island. The are apparently remixes in ACWW (in the taxi), ACCF (on the bus) and ACNL (Kapp’n’s song), but I so far haven’t heard the resemblance.
Gotta have my share of bad luck sometimes…
And of looking like a fool.
. . . You’re trying to make this hard, aren’t you? -_-
Mole cricket. Never again.
Emporium group photo! 😆
Just what kind of classroom…
Beyond my budget.
First one is for my museum! >_<
He got the second one 🙂
Ahhh, another sculpture I might not be donating anytime soon…
Aaand winter is heeere x3
I asked on ACC to catalogue a Sagittarius arrow, and a lovely member by the name of Jigo responded. They gave me the arrow as a gift, as well as a red carnation!
^^
I was surprised to see Redd selling what I think are two real versions of paintings on the same day. Previously I had only seen either one real version, or one real version plus one with no variation.
Aww cute, Isabelle on the only exclusive holiday for Europe and Australia, Naughty-or-Nice Day. She gives you a stocking.
Ohhh boy, this day had me confused. I hat never heard this noise of flatulence coming from a chair before, and for this whole day nearly all the chairs I sat on did it x_x At first I thought, oh that’s interesting, they added the sound for when you slide off leather, but then the hard surface chairs did it. I went all over the internet searching for instances of corrupted sound files in games… and in the end it turned out I had bad item luck -_-
I couldn’t wait to catch my first snowflake once winter started x3 It was such a cute concept and addictive — I couldn’t help going after every one I saw.
Oh gosh, I didn’t know I could make such a face ^^;
But yes… too close to shore = no Pascal.
It was time for one of Amy’s villagers to move away, and she invited me back to Citàlune for a super quick visit the night before I left for Japan to speak to them ^^ Her landscaping outside their house took my breath away.
It was Phoebe! The conversation went smoothly and she decided to move to my town 🙂
Thanks Amy! I’ll look after her~
While I was in Sapporo, Pete delivered a letter to me ^_^ Inside was a cold turkey. It still looked delicious, though!
The curse begins.
Over the next 2 weeks, I got enough numbers to be one number away from a bingo in three different ways, which, Snowman excitedly pointed out, “is even rarer than an actual bingo!”. Gee, thanks.
By New Year’s Eve, my bingo card looked like this. -__-
At least I had better luck elsewhere. $∨$
At first I thought maybe this was a hint telling you you built them too big, but in the end it just turned out to be something all the snowboys said.
How my HHS plaza frequently looked 🙂
Inexplicable swimsuit trend.
Checking out the showcase.
This split room looked pretty dang cool 😀
My friend and I had the same impression: Ew.
A room full of Gracie outfits and other unorderables >_<
A library of KK records! 😮
After a good couple of hours of solid searching through people’s Streetpass houses, I finally found what I was looking for: a Capricorn ornament! 😀
This was bound to happen in Japan.
While on our trip, we heard that fortune is smiling upon you if you see Mt Fuji clearly. We saw it twice, and I saw it once more in a fox’s tent 🙂
22! No go.
A good haul from a night on the island. During my break I got into the habit of setting myself up with a good playlist on Youtube (usually a Let’s Play of some game) late in the evening and just sitting back catching bugs and fish on the island til my basket was full.
I was pleasantly surprised to hear Luna tell me of a Harry from town Red Bank 🙂
Which I promptly visited…
I quite liked a few spots.
And I met an old familiar face, though she doesn’t know me 😉
This post took me by surprise, I thought you were done with this batch of photos after the last post! But it was a very very pleasant surprise, yay 😀
Ahh thank you for the kind words about my town, and posting those pretty pictures from your visit, I appreciate it!! x3 It’s funny, I remember giving you the sailboat model but not the picnic basket 😛 That was a fun WiFi, thanks for coming over! 🙂
I’ve always liked your custom dress for Rain! But I didn’t know you were inspired by something else for it (and still have no idea what xP)
It’s interesting to learn that about Marine Song 2001; it reminds me of how Forest Life and Spring Blossoms have origins in the early AC games’ music. Wonder how many songs like this there are, or if those three are all of them ❓
I think I’ve seen on Tumblr that there can even be more than 2 real pieces of art at Redd’s, maybe it has to do with item luck. And that’s weird about the result of your bad item luck, haha, I’ve never noticed that before o_o
Aww I’m glad you liked the landscaping around Phoebe’s house! 🙂 Tbh I was trying to hide her house a bit with the trees, since it was awkwardly in the space between the grand buildings of the town hall and Lyra’s castle. Thanks for taking care of Phoebe, I’m glad she’s enjoying her new life in Arcadia, and I enjoyed visiting her last weekend!
That library of K.K. records is awesome, wow! 😮 Cool idea!
Hehe now you’ve been to both Red Banks ^_^ Glad you liked some parts of his town! It’s not elaborately landscaped or anything but I think it has some charm. I like a few of the flower fields (which I think just naturally proliferated from neighbors’ planting) and the dirt paths (which were mostly unplanned I think, so he must’ve just taken the same routes around town a lot).
Ugh, believe it or not there’s at least one more post for this batch, still covering the same period of time – Anything after is still on the 3DS -_-
Lol, the thing the dress is based on is called Teepo. It’s so weird that even if you saw it, you still wouldn’t know what the heck it was xP
I didn’t know about Spring Blossoms, I thought it was new! I really like that song. I don’t know if there are any other songs like that, but there’s a couple ‘special’ songs, like the K.K.Song, and something about one of the creepy songs being from ACCF when you requested the wrong thing? 😕
Ohh, it didn’t occur to me Redd’s items could be associated with luck, I wonder if it’s true. Luck really plays a lot of roles I don’t expect in NL, for example I never would have thought luck affected the price when villagers buy and sell items with you!
The gold trees with perfect apples fit her house perfectly x3 I hope I can get the ‘residential quarter’ landscaped out soon so that the area doesn’t look so sparse… With Phoebe’s house, I want bamboo, cherry trees and cedar trees all at once and I can’t decide -.-
Oh wow, awesome! I look forward to it and wonder what it could be about 😀
This post happened to pop up on my Dashboard in a reblog yesterday! The person said that one is missing and I think it must be Spring Blossoms since I don’t see the cover there; the ones I see are My Place, Marine Song 2001, Forest Life, and K.K. Island 🙂 I should’ve maybe known the K.K. Island one, but I never went to the island much in AC:GC (it was kinda complicated iirc).
Thanks! x3 Hehe I can see your dilemma, I think all those sound good 🙂 You could probably afford to mix cedar trees and cherry trees together around her house if you wanted to, but I do think you’d probably have to choose between bamboo and trees xP
Oh interesting ^^ And just from that little scene it feels like that guy’s come to the end of a long journey through the series, living out of his suitcase and collecting seashells and other souvenirs, and that finally he’s come home to rest… Ok I think this means I need sleep xP
Oh but speaking of the old games, I just found out about the “town decorations” of the old Japanese e+ version! Did you know about them? It was really fascinating to see the pictures for the first time O:
I agree, it comes across as a very cozy, personal sort of room, with the seashell and suitcase alluding to memories, and all those nostalgic records 🙂
I do remember coming across those, in a wiki just like that, and thinking it was kind of eerie that all these PWPs I thought were new and unique to New Leaf were almost exactly the same as these town projects in the very first Animal Crossing o_o I guess it explains why the AC:NL fountain looks so different from the AC:CF fountain. (The windmill and well look quite a bit different though)
Modern!? I thought historical was hard!
😛
You know, I wouldn’t be surprised if “Helium” floated out of the window one day.
Oh, I caught like 2 of them hard to catch, right?
Uh…… could I ask something? Is that cold turkey reorderable? If it is, you could have some of my hybrids or Dlcs if you like. 🙂 thx.
Yeah, I wasn’t interested in any of the modern looks, so I never bought them -_- I’m guessing you aren’t that much a fan of the historical 😛
Lol, 2 sounds about the number I caught, too.
Unfortunately I don’t think the turkey is orderable 😦 (Btw it was just a normal turkey; I was kidding cos it was “delivered” to <0°C Sapporo in a soggy envelope :P) Didn't you get one though? They were sent out in the couple weeks before Christmas 😕
Yup.
Yeah, totally right about that.. 😛
No, I never got a turkey… I got nothing.
